Lift Your Spirits with ISUN Sacred Aroma Blend

Hi Lovelies,

Welcome back! And if you are new here, welcome 💕💕💕

green life in dublin
ISUN Skincare Sacred Aromablend

How are you all doing? Hope life is treating you well? Today I wanted to review something special from ISUN Skincare line, the line that quickly captured my heart and found it's way not only into my daily routine, but into Yearly Favourites as well, nothing less! I have reviewed a number of their products (you can find the links at the end of this post), and today I will share my thoughts on their natural Sacred Aroma Blend.

ISUN products have been consciously formulated to provide a ‘Quantum Healing Effect’ for total well-being – body, mind and spirit. This means, that beyond the obvious effects that support more youthful, balanced, radiant skin, ISUN skin care products also support overall physical and emotional health and well-being. There is a purpose in this. When we are better balanced physically, mentally and emotionally, our hearts are more open, we tend to feel better about ourselves and more loving with others. We are also more open to higher awareness which is often expressed in our thoughts, words and actions. In other words, it becomes easier to realise the Light that we truly are and to recognize the Light in others and all life. The core intention of providing a skin care product that can produce a positive healing effect for the overall body, mind & spirit, opens a pathway to fulfilling the ‘seed intention’ of ISUN as described above. A quantum healing effect that offers a sense of total well-being from a skincare product can only be fulfilled when the products meet the following criteria:

💕 They are created from inception with positive, clear intentions.
💕 They are made from pure, unadulterated, life and health-giving ingredients. 💕  They are made with living, high life-force ingredients.

To me, this is as good at it gets, I see ISUN products as ultimate organic products, even if the wildcrafted ingredients ISUN use, cannot be labeled as organic. Just think about it, wildcrafted ingredients are harvested from plants that grow freely in their natural habitat and have all the elements intact to fully flourish, as opposite to man grown plants, even if they are grown in organic soil. Think of the vibrations wild harvested plants have!
High vibrational ingredients will fill your skin and your whole being with beautiful energy, love and an exquisite harmony - aligning your cells, your tissues, your organs and your chakras with their perfectly balanced innate structure and rhythm. Even if you don't believe in energies, don't you feel better knowing you are getting the ultimately pure and concentrated ingredients in your products? I sure do and it makes my heart sing!

Now, let's look into Sacred Aromablend. When Tracey gave me free reign to choose products I would like to try, this product called my name, and upon hearing the ingredients you will soon understand why. Some of you may know I suffer from SAD and the last year was the hardest year of my life to date, so I really wanted to experience relaxing and mind elevating properties it promises. ISUN say their essential oils aroma blends stimulate the pineal gland (third eye) to support deep inner-mind relaxation and more easily flow into a meditative state. I must admit I am yet to master meditation (tried and failed many times, making my busy mind still proves to be a bigger challenge than I thought) so I simply used this aroma blend a few times a day to calm upcoming anxiety and center myself. You can apply it on pulse, energy or acupressure points including wrists, temples, ear lobes and other places. You can also diffuse it, something I am yet to do if I am honest. Shall we look into ingredients?

Santalum album (sandalwood) oil; Rosa centifolia (rose) flower extract; Boswellia sacra (frankincense) oil; Vetiveria zizanoides (vetiver) root oil; Opoponax (sweet myrrh) oil; Amyris balsamifera (amyris) bark oil; Eremophillia mitchellii (Buddha) wood oil

Does it not make your heart sing? Knowing ISUN as a brand, I have no doubts all these ingredients are the best quality there is. It has calming and relaxing effect to it, like I expected it to. I have to say it is a great tool to help lift my mood and to dissolve anxiety - and I am so glad I have it in my life right now! Do I enjoy using it? Yes! Is it my favourite scent ever? No. If I were to use it as a perfume, I would want to add some sweet scent to it, vanilla maybe? Do I find it helps dissolve my anxiety and lifts my spirits? Absolutely! Smell is powerful and we shouldn't underestimate it. And on the verge of repeating myself like a broken record, let me just tell you that with ISUN you are getting the best quality product, every ingredient is their purest form. And I am so glad I am not breathing in chemicals, I am getting the purest essential oils, which work on a cellular level and help me to better balance myself  emotionally and spiritually. For those of you who meditate, this will help you to slip into the meditative phase more easily.

Let's look into some of the effects of those wonderful ingredients in this blend?

Sandalwood oil is widely utilized for its calming and relaxing effect It can be used for depression, daily stress and states of anxiety, fear or chronic illness. It has many uses in the skincare, as well as healthcare, but let's leave it for now. It aids in an increased  sense of calmness and greater mental clarity in your day to day life. Sandalwood essential oil can help you achieve more clarity and calmness due to its extensive therapeutic benefits. This special essential oil doesn’t just have an amazing scent, sandalwood can also have an effect on overall well-being and mental health, along with many other healing properties.
The 2006 study (source) found that although sandalwood was relaxing when smelled or rubbed on the skin, it did not promote drowsiness like lavender. Instead, it promoted what researchers referred to as a harmonious feeling, more of a present, clear, but calm awareness. It also boosts your concentration, as well as being all around tonic.

Rose centifolia flower extract (also known as a cabbage rose) is created through a simple process of steam distillation, has been used to treat health conditions and used in natural beauty treatments for thousands of years. Again, let's leave it health and skincare benefits aside for now (which are plentiful).

A perfect example of how beneficial Rose oil can be is seen in how it affects depression. As our ancestors battled situations where their mental status was dampened, or otherwise impaired, they would have been naturally drawn to the pleasant sights and smells of the flowers that surrounded them. I have never seen a person take a whiff of a powerful rose and not smile. And that's what we want! It also aids libido and hormone health. Acording to studies (source) it helps us relax. It is very important to tacle the stress as it comes I find, because left untreated it can cause an array of symptoms in the body (source) and that's the opposite of what we want. So it feels good to know that the effects of rose oil and extracts are science proven, and not just 'in our head'.

Frankincense (boswelia sacra) is a favourite of mine, and I can talk for hours about it!
This essential oil is regarded as a 'king of oils' for thousand of years, and used in aromatherapy that can offer a variety of health benefits, including helping relieve chronic stress and anxiety, reducing pain and inflammation, and boosting immunity. Again, it has many and many benefits for skincare and healtchare, including helping to fight cancer, but let's leave it for now - I urge you to do your own research in this matter, I am a strong advocate in being an informed consumer.
I believe that frankincense oil is one of the top essential oils you can use for your health. It's known for its comforting properties, and is useful for visualizing, improving one's spiritual connection and helping overcome stress and despair. In aromatherapy, frankincense oil is either inhaled or diffused via a vaporizer — a sedative that has been known to help induce a feeling of mental peace, relaxation and satisfaction, and helps relieve anxiety, anger and stress. And that's only a small part there is to it! Again, please do your own research on it - you will be glad you did!

All those befits, and we looked into three ingredients of it! Doesn't all that sound amazing? I am in awe of the power of nature - and I am so glad we can harness all those benefits from natural subtances like essential oils - I feel everyone should know about essential oils and what they can do for you. I myself am not an expert, but the more I find out abou them, the more I want to shout out from the rooftops :)

So yes, I really recommend it!

Banish Dry Winter Skin with ISUN Herbal Shea Butter

Hi Lovelies,

Welcome back! And if you are new here, welcome 💕💕💕

Green Life In Dublin
ISUN Skincare Herbal Shea Butter Review

Today I wanted to talk with you about some wonderful product from the ISUN Skincare UK, the Herbal Shea Butter. I am truly enamored with this brand to no end, and this herbal shea butter will be your best friend this winter! I suggest you make it a part of your winter routine too, and you can thank me later :)

But let's start from the beginning, shall we? ISUN is amazing brand with a core intention to produce a skincare range that generates a positive influence on our mind, body and spirit. ISUN was created with the intent that every product has the potential of offering a ‘quantum healing effect’. Through the powerful quality of the products, the sensory receptors of our skin, our organs, tissues and cells that make up our bodies and ultimately our total being, can potentially be impacted through the regular use of ISUN Skincare.

This can only be fulfilled when their products meet rigorous criteria:

They are created from inception with positive, clear intentions. ISUN basic principles have been kept in perspective from the start. They have a clear eco-consciousness, giving back to the earth, for us, is a way of life. The foundation of all products is living plants, unrefined plant oils and essential oils. The brand avoids using harsh chemicals that may upset the balance in our soil or in our environment and strictly no animal testing is conducted.

Products are made from pure, unadulterated, life and health giving ingredients. Sourced via the most ethical and sustainablepractices, ISUN skincare range is made with the purest, natural, wildcrafted ingredients. Untouched by humankind, wildcrafted produce is the most natural form of plant, with all the natural healing properties for your skin, body and mind. So therefore these ingredients work in harmony with our skin to effectively repair, regenerate, balance and protect.

All ISUN products are made with living, high life-force ingredients. Living plants are bursting with powerful energy; they contain regenerating nutrients and life-force energy from the sun as they transform light into life. The light emitted by living cells in our body and in plant life is called biophotons. Biophotons are key to communication between plant cells and our body. Our natural ingredients will not only benefit your skin, but they will also leave you feeling rejuvenated due to theiraromatherapeutic benefits. Their calming effects will relieve stress, awaken and inspire your senses and help to eliminate andneutralise released toxins in your body with their holistic properties. These are the ultimate high vibrational products people!

All this is certainly true when it comes to this wonderful Herbal Shea Butter - you can really tell it's quality is second to none, and I can honestly say this is the most luxurious shea butter I've used in my life. The ingredients certainly made my heart sing, so let's look closely at some of them, shall we? Later on I will also list all the ways I use this shea butter, because if you know me, you know I love making my products work harder and am constantly coming up with a new ways to use them. This body butter is raw, vegan, organic and wildcrafted, and it is intended for dry, normal and sensitive skin, but I can honestly say anybody with any skin type can use it, and not only for the body, but on the face too, as I've done numerous times to protect my skin from these Arctic type of winds we have here lately.

Ingredients:
Butyrospermum parkii (shea) butter; Caprylic/Capric triglyceride (MCT coconut oil), Lavandula intermedia (lavender) flower extract, Calendula officinalis (calendula) flower extract, Helichrysum arenarium (helichrysum) flower extract; Butyrospermumparkii (shea) oil; Cera alba (beeswax); Lavandula angustifolia (lavender) oil; Tocopherols (vitamin E); Rosmarinus officinalis(rosemary) extract.

As you can see, the ingredients are minimal, that's what I like about them! I am doing the happy dance when the product has ingredients list that you can understand without a chemist degree, and this is your ultimate natural product. Plus you know everything is the best quality there can be, as it is always a case with every ISUN product. Shea butter and coconut oil are two of my favourite ingredients ever, and if they are infused with all these wonderful flowers, so much better! Coconut oil is a wonderful addition, that actually facilitates the better absorption of the butter. Not that you have to worry about it, it melts on your skin upon contact. As I already mentioned, this is the most luxurious body butter I've had to date, and I simply love that it not only protects my skin from harsh elements, but also turns simple showering routine into spa like experience. I am now looking forward to my showers actually, simply so I could use this wonderful product. It is so pure that it is safe for pregnant women, infants and babies. Shea butter is a wonderful all rounder for the skin, with a numerous benefits:

Shea Butter Benefits

Moisturizing: The concentration of natural vitamins and fatty acids in shea butter makes it incredibly nourishing and moisturizing for skin. It is often used to remedy dry skin and to help protect the skin’s natural oils.

Reduces inflammation: a study has found that due to its cinnamic acid and other natural properties, shea butter was anti-inflammatory. One compound in particular, lupeol cinnamate, was found to reduce skin inflammation and even potentially help avoid skin mutations. This also makes it beneficial for some people with acne.

Skin smoothing: Shea butter aids in the skin’s natural collagen production and contains oleic, stearic, palmitic and linolenicacids that protect and nourish the skin to prevent drying. With long term use, many people report skin softening and strengthening as well as wrinkle reduction.

Coconut Oil Benefits

As we all know, coconut oil is wonderful for us humans, and there are so man reasons why. Let's leave the benefits of taking it internally for another time and another post, and let's look at the benefits of applying it externally for this time. It is rich in medium chain fatty acids or triglycerides. When applied on the skin, they keep it smooth to the touch. Due to the presence of these fats, coconut oil also retains the moisture content of the skin, as the fats eliminate moisture loss through the pores on the skin. Capric /Caprylic/Lauric acid - these three fatty acids have strong disinfectant and antimicrobial properties. As a result, when applied to the skin, coconut oil protects from microbial infections.
Like coconuts themselves, coconut oil is rich in many proteins. These proteins keep skin healthy and rejuvenated, both internally and externally. Proteins also contribute to the cellular health and tissue repair, along with a wide range of other essential activities within the body.

Coconut oil is wonderful as a face cleanser, moisturizer and low SPF sun screen, but also it can treat many skin disorders. The fatty acids (caprylic and lauric) in coconut oil reduce inflammation internally and externally and moisturize, making them a great solution for all types of skin conditions. It protects the skin and has many antioxidants that make it ideal for healing the skin. In addition, the antimicrobial properties balance out the candida or fungal sources that can cause many skin conditions. There’s so much unrefined coconut oil can do for skin.

Now for the ways this herbal shea butter can be used:
  • as a body butter
  • instead of the face balm to protect you from harsh elements
  • as a hand cream and cuticle cream too
  • as a lip balm or a mask (slather it on and leave overnight)
  • for babies bottoms to treat rashes
  • to soothe irritated skin (I have dermatitis and I can attest to that)
  • for pregnant ladies to avoid stretch marks
  • as a foot cream
  • rub a bit on your palms and smooth flyways and frizzy hair (use small amount though) and on the ends of your hair
  • after sun exposure to calm and soothe the skin (that's right, I use shea body butters in the summer too, it is not only for winter)
  • on sore/raw noses during flu
  • this is unusual, but I use it as an eye shadow primer - it is wonderful to make the shadows stick!
  • on scars to make them heal quicker
  • it also makes a great hair mask and scalp mask

So, all in all, I am in love with the product and can't recommend it highly enough. Really luxurious, gives you that ultimate I've just been to a spa" feeling. Melts upon contact and sinks into the skin without any greasy residue, what's not to love? The ingredients are so pure that it is safe for babies and pregnant women, no less.  It also gives me a peace of mind, as I know my skin is protected from harsh elements. Not only that, it helps heal the skin too, and as someone with dry skin and occasional dermatitis breakouts, I can attest to that. I wish I had an endless supply of it!
It retails for 48£ for 100ml, and comes in a luxurious Miron glass jar. Get it via ISUN Skincare UK here or in Dutch Health Store here.

And now, if you will excuse moi, I have to take a shower. Aka any excuse to use this product, haha!

Have a great day and upcoming Christmas!

ISUN Skincare Peptide Eye Cream Review

Hello Lovelies,

Welcome back! And if you are new here, welcome 💕💕💕

Green Life In Dublin
Isun Skincare UK Peptide Eye Cream

Today I am coming at you with a review of an eye cream by a company I fell hard for earlier this year, ISUN Skincare UK. All products I have tried to date are amazing, well and truly natural and yet they work exceptionally well - and and this is no exception.

Also available at Dutch Health Store

ISUN was founded by Bunnie Gullick, who is a pioneer way ahead of her time creating wild-crafted organic products before it was even considered important or effective. After more than 20 years of successfully developing and manufacturing skin care products for others, in her late 50’s, the opportunity came to create her own line of skincare products.
With a formal background in clinical nutrition and having been self-educated and mentored in botanical chemistry specializing in skin care, combined with an intuitive mind and heart open to helping humanity and our planet in whatever ways she could … ISUN was born. When she came to understand the truth of our inner nature and the absolute connection of oneness in Light we have with each other and nature, nothing else was real. There was only one path to follow, even though it barely existed in the commercial world of beauty and skin care. But it was the only way that was real and in harmony with natural law that could provide total well-being for our body, mind and spirit. This way of creating skin care products was the only way I could align with in truth. If ISUN could not offer a quantum healing effect overall — as it brought radiance and rejuvenation to skin — it was not worth the endeavor.

In an endless stream of Love, ISUN is conceived and hand crafted in the pristine Shining Mountains of Colorado. It is made with the power of focused intention and collaborative creation with pure living sources from nature, whose Light we honour and share in deep connection.

ISUN are true to their word - their skincare products that are consciously created with love and a true intention to help uplift and bring harmony to body, mind and spirit for total well-being. They are hand-crafted, high performance, alchemical creations are made with pure wildcrafted and organic plant ingredients teeming with nutrients and inherent life-force energy kept alive with cold-processing and enhanced with energy techniques.

What's more, I just can't help but marvel at the brand ethos, and I think you will too.

ISUN Skincare go beyond the usual and they maintain Golden Principles of:

  • Do No Harm
  • Altruism in Action
  • Eco-Conscious Ethics
  • Responsible Sustainability
  • Fair Trade Ingredients
  • Pure Vegetarian Ingredients
  • Cold-Process Manufacturing
  • Subtle Energy Manufacturing
  • Good Manufacturing Practices
  • No Damaging Chemicals
  • No Gluten
  • No Animal Ingredients
  • No Animal Testing
  • Integrity Glass Packaging
  • Education That Inspires
  • Living, Dynamic Products

Now, please don’t tell me all that doesn’t make your heart sing? Mine surely does!

Let’s take a closer look at the organic and wildcrafted raw ingredients of ISUN products. I know I and many of my fellow green beauty lovers are really interested in that. Many of the ingredients for ISUN products are wildcrafted, they are harvested from their natural habitat where they grow freely, untouched by humankind. They are ideally supported by the compatible plants and eco systems in soil that is teeming with abundant life and nutrients to support their growth. This results in plant-life that is higher in nutrients than organically and commercially farmed plants and 100% free of additives.
Wildcrafted plants most often grow in pristine environments, such as forest regions or around bodies of water, where there is an unseen life force energy that can be sensed. This energy contributes in subtle ways to the dynamic properties found in wildcrafted plants. Edible wildcrafted plants are often called superfoods because of their higher nutritional and energy values.

ISUN's first choice of ingredients are wildcrafted plants in the forms of herbs, oils and essential oils. Alive wildcrafted plants are the most harmonious with our bodies and offer optimal benefits for our skin and overall well-being due to their dynamic properties.

Higher in superconducting ions and biophotons than cultivated plants, they are easily absorbed by our skin and send positive a message to our skin receptors to produce beta-endorphins, the happy hormones that awaken the natural radiance in our skin and promote feeling of well-being.

Now, let's see how was my experience with this gorgeous eye cream? I have tested, aka used it for more than four months prior writing this review, so it is fair to say I got plenty of time to see if it makes any visible difference and form my opinion on it.
It comes in a gorgeous dark Miron glass bottle with a pump, and the aesthetics are pleasing to the eye - it would look gorgeous on any bathroom counter! I really like that it comes with the pump, not having to dip my fingers into the product makes me happy, as there's no chance of contaminating it. It is off white in colour, has rich buttery texture and yet it is lightweight on your skin, leaving it super hydrated and plump. I used it morning and night, and I have to say it works well for under make up. My fine lines were definitely less visible while I was using this, and it definitely kept the skin well nourished. True hydration from the bottle! Two thumbs up and a seal of approval from me.

Ingredients are nothing short of truly natural and magical, like the rest of ISUN products. It has a long list of ingredients, but they are all fabulous, plant extracts aplenty. Concentrated hyaluronic acid? Yes please! Check. High nutrient active oils? Check.

5 Natural & Organic Autumn Skincare Must Haves

Hello Lovelies,

Welcome back! And if you are new here, welcome 💕💕💕

Green Life In Dublin
Natural & Organic Skincare Must Haves

How are you all doing? Are you enjoying Autumn or is it not your season? I love summer most of all, and Autumn is not my favourite, as it leads to Winter and often turns into one long Cold & Flu season if I am not careful to have good natural products to boost and protect my family's immune system (yep, you guessed it right, there's a blog post in the works!) but let's leave it that aside for now, as in this post I wanted to share my top five beauty and skincare products.

So if you are interested in what I use when the seasons change, please keep on reading.

Green Life In Dublin
DrHauschka Rose Day Cream

💕 Rich Face Cream - e.g DrHauschka Rose Day Cream

This rich face cream is exactly what my skin laps up and loves! I just published a review of it here should you fancy reading it (here), but I have to say, so far so good! When I ran out, it tried some other creams in between, but nothing measured up and I ran to the health shop to stock up. Not only it keeps my skin happy and supple, but I noticed my dermatitis flare up were down to the absolute minimum when I used it. A must have and a strong contender for The Holy Grail category. You need to upgrade your moisturiser to a more rich version at this time of the year, and this works perfectly for my dry and sensitive skin. Tell me your favourite rich creams if you also have sensitive skin, I would love to know!

💕 Hurraw or Flying Wild Lip Balms

A lip balm is an absolute must for me at all times, and especially when the temperatures drop. I love a rich consistency balm that stays on the lips, and from the vast majority I've tried, Hurraw and Flying Wild are my absolute favourites. Now, I never reviewed Hurraw despite using them for more than five years, but I've reviewed Flying Wild here - it comes from an Irish company and it quickly made its way into my heart. They have a few different ones, and rosemary and honey is the one I like the most. The minty variety is a different formula.

💕 Facial Mists

To avoid dehydrating my skin I upped my misting/toning game and I suggest all of you do the same. By the way, am I the only one with the heating on? I have a blog post on my toners and mists from a couple of months back, but at the moment I am using Josh Rosebrook Hydrating Accelerator, Wabi Sabi Botanicals Amida Illuminating Floral Essence (not working for me for everyday use, due to witch hazel in it) but I think I will move on to either Esse Toner or Living Nature Sensitive Hydrating Toner. I really want Madara Time Miracle Cellular Nutrients Toning Mist, but it is out of stock in Love Lula, and it has been for the last couple of weeks. I know, I checked! What intrigues me about it is that it has birch water as a base, and that really appeals to me.
Turbliss Bioactive Peat Toner (and mask) is calling my name too.
Either those or I want my ISUN Ormus Myst back :)

See, I want ALL the mists! I could go on too :)

Either way, make sure to have some form of mist of hydrating toner with you! If you are on the budget, plain rosewater or neroli water work well too, and they cost less than 3€ in the Asian shops.

💕 Facial Oils

Another thing that is back into my routine is facial oils, I didn't use them since spring, but now my skin is crying for more moisture, they are back with a vengeance! I have quite a collection going on now, and not sure how I am going to use them up without them expiring on me, but I will do my best! The two I have lined up to use first are the ISUN Skincare Sapphire & Ooh! Oils Of Heaven. If your skin is really sensitive, I would recommend Pai Rosehip BioRegenerate Oil - it is gorgeous and does wonderful things for the skin - I ran out a long time ago, and despite having an array of gorgeous other oils, I dream of having it back. I use to think of facial oils as expensive products, but now I see it as investment. Besides one 30ml bottle will last you a year, so it is well worth the money. Speaking of investment, if budgeting is not your concern, I would recommend Mahalo Vitality Elixir - another gorgeous facial oil I finished a long time ago, but still remember how good it it! One to repurchase one day for sure. Living Libations Best Skin Ever are really fab too. I hope Santa is listening!

Oh, one little tip if you are using facial oils as a moisturiser - don't forget to spritz your face with toner or some kind of mist beforehand, as that makes the oil to absorb better. Then apply a few drops of facial oil to your fingertips and rub them together to warm up the oil and then pat it into the skin. This way you will get the most benefits of it, and if you will follow that up with a facial massage, so much better! If you apply oil straight up, cold, on unprepped skin, I am afraid it might not do much. You don't want to invest in a good facial oil and not get much benefits from it, right?

And just because I can't stop at five, one more:

Green Life In Dublin
Natural and organic balms

💕 Balms

I am a late convert to balms (see post here) and now I can't imagine my life without it! There are so many to choose from, and you can choose one according to your needs and skin type. If I had to choose just one, I would single out Mahalo Rare Indigo balm - sorry for mentioning so many expensive products in this post, it's just I know how amazing it is for my dermatitis prone skin - it is one of the first products I reach when I have an outbreak. I treat it like it's made of gold and savor every bit of it. I dread the day I will have to repurchase it, but it is one of the very few products worth it's price in my opinion. Try to get a sample if you can, as they too last for ages, you only need a pea size amount for the whole face and the back of your hands. This can replace your night cream and an eye cream too, one of a couple of reasons I deem it worth luxury price point. I often use it at nigh, all over the face. Yes, I go to bed with greasy looking, but I wake up with an amazing skin. And I notice a sizeable difference when I don't use it.
If your skin isn't super sensitive and blemish free, you don't have to invest so much in a balm, Egyptian Magic Balm is great - and you get a giant tub of it that will last you ages. I love how versatile balms are, you can use it for so many thing, and it can replace a multitude of products - great if you are aspiring minimalist or are on a budget.

So I think that's it for today. What are your must haves for the moment? Please share, I would love to know!
